Inspiration

 As I mentioned before, how people need to find a motivation to continue living, I came upon the stoicism that gave Billy Pilgrim inspiration to continue living. As follows:

  GOD GRANT ME

THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT                

THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE,

COURAGE

TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN,

AND WISDOM ALWAYS

TO TELL THE

DIFFERENCE.

This passage didn’t just motivate Billy, but all of those who read it. It made them realize that they couldn’t change the past, the present nor the future and that no matter what happened they had to move on. While reading this passage I was able to notice the use of stoicism. A method used to encourage soldiers during war making them lose importance of family and loved ones while teaching them that they cannot control nor stop destiny.
